Luckily got in the day after my suspension blew coming off of the ferry. Chose MID ISLAND on a whim from their great reviews and wasn't disappointed. The team over there seemed to go out of their way to help me out and was too friendly considering the busy long hard days they put in. Never one to do many reviews but thought that this is more than deserved.

Alternator died on my truck at the Departure Bay ferry terminal and I had to miss my ferry. I called Mid Island Automotive Repairs to see if they could diagnose the problem and fix any related issues immediately. Susan, at the front desk, was really helpful and friendly and saved me a spot for an appointment within the hour. Ron (the owner) confirmed that the alternator needed replacement and ordered one right away. After replacing the faulty alternator, he also provided a detailed list of items that should be fixed in the next short/mid term. I was on my way in no time and caught the afternoon ferry. Great service all around! Facility is also spotless! Nanaimo is fortunate to have such a great facility.

Susan was my first point of contact and she was awesome to speak with. We setup an appointment after she gave me some packaged service and inspection options. I brought my 2005 Ford F-150 in and the team quickly identified a number of problems that I suspected were resulting in low performance. I was made aware of all of my options along the way and happily chose the repair options presented. Super grateful for Susan, Ron (the owner) and his team.

The service was exemplary. I have a classic car and asked many other "car guys" where should I take my car now that my mechanic retired, "Ron at Mid Island Auto" name came up repeatedly so I booked my appointment. Not only did he fix problems with my car that previous mechanics had been unable to, but he found others that I didn't know existed, and that they had missed. After 10 years of bouncing between shops, the car now runs better than it ever has. It was "hard to find a good mechanic" but I have found one in Ron and his crew at Mid Island Automotive.

Got me in right away with a serious brake problem. Very professional service by everyone evolved. Gave me a ride to work after dropping off my vehicle. Ron went over everything with me after the repairs, instead of just being handed the receipt on the way out the door like many places. The shop is spotless, which I think really speaks to the professionalism of this place. 10/10 would recommend.
